If I collected this line, I would have so much fun creating something awesome with Starkiller, the Tie Fighter, and a bunch of Stormtroopers.

The soft rubbery plastic they used on the TIE and X-Wing is a real disappointment, especially since the sculpt is nice. Warped wings forever.

Have you opened one of the TIEs yourself by any chance? I've read the reviews about the X-wing but I haven't seen as many people comment on the TIE. I'm looking for details before I decide whether or not to buy one. What parts of the TIE are rubbery exactly? The wing panels? The guns?

It's the wing panels. You can see in the photo they are not flat.

I was hoping it was just the photo. Thanks for the info. Guess I'll be passing on the TIE Fighter AND the X-wing then.

Has anyone bought and opened the First Order Snowspeeder yet? I'm wondering if it has rubbery/warped parts too.

Yeah, wings are warped. Really sucks. Part of the allure of that piece is the mechanical, angular nature of it. Warped wings really throws that off. Was hoping it was just my specific one and I could replace it at some point.

I have it, and it's made of sturdy hard plastic. No warping whatsoever. The toy is very light and hallow though. Feels a little over priced for what it is. But I still really like it along with the included Snowtrooper.

They sure do charge a lot for the low quality. The X-Wing and the TIE are $50 and $40 respectively.

I'm mainly out of collecting Star Wars and pretty much have been for three years, minus a single figure here or there. That said I wouldn't pass up some of the new figures, maybe certain ones that strike my fancy, but I just cannot get into this 5 POA business. I will wait to see what the 3.75 black figures look like and possibly get some of those.

the big thing that kept me away from the new MM is the fact that they dont have stands like the original ones had.

Yeah that was a bummer. Only way to get cool poses with the ships interacting was to put two playsets next to each other. Hopefully Hasbro or someone makes some stand packs with the proper peg ports. Even peg add-ons for Tamashii stands would work.

Love the new micro machines, but yeah they need to include some flight stands. It's the one thing holding the line back from true greatness. Even so, building tiny armies doesn't get much better for the price points.

Shame about the dumpy elbows on the Snowtrooper. But, that's the state we're in. Cut as many corners as possible when people will buy it anyway.

I feel like the orange pauldron isn't really an issue since it was never the intended goal of the Empire to have any kind of camouflage so it stands that the First Order feels the same. Snowtroopers are just white because Stormtroopers are white, if they were actively trying to hide themselves then Scout-Troopers wouldn't be wearing all white too.

Edit: Mine came in today and I was able to get mine into a nice both hands shooting pose. I really like the pauldorn's visual flair.

Hey that no camouflage thing worked for the British pretty well.

The Empire could be compared to how American colonists viewed the British, a tyrannical leadership forcing its will upon them. In both cases the rebellion beats the empire.

Admittedly though it's possible the pauldrons on these new snowtroopers wouldn't do too much to give them away. Snow blindness could hide them as it might anything, otherwise they'd be just as visible as any other snowtrooper regardless of the target on their shoulder.

I like that reasoning, I'll roll with that.
