I hope I'm wrong, but Hasbro has never given us any reason to believe this will be the case. They tend to tell the fans what they want to hear, and then do whatever they want.
This is a case that it's safest to assume history is truth, and "Generations will continue, we swear!" is typical hasbro BS.

I'd be thrilled if I'm wrong.

As much as I'd like a couple of movie toys, I prefer my classic G1 inspired toys.
Yea I agree. I just had the classics out on the table cause I just got jazz, wheeljack and tracks.... Wow. It just brought me back. The kids seem to enjoy them too. My friends daughter prefers those over movie TFs. Really wish their distribution was better.

They're doing well overseas too. Generations is continuing in Australia too, and UK because they were selling better than HFTD.

Finished building the Optimus dual model kit. Absolutely outstanding. It has my vote already for toy of the year. (even though it's technically not a toy)

That's sad that the Generations is cancelled. There are so many G1 figures that needed the treatment. I would like to have seen Trailbreaker, Insecticons and some Targetmasters given love.

I don't think it's canceled, the Black Shadow and Junkheap figures are just the last 2011 figures.

The new Kabaya model kits look interesting, I still need to catch up with wave 3 though. And the Gaiacross set.

Well... It can be as durable as you want it to be. It holds pretty well with friction alone. I'm not the first to say it and certainly not the last. This is NOT a toy.
It is insanely screen accurate, insanely detailed and posable. So for a collector it's outstanding! Guys I can't recommend this guy enough (if you can find it in stock now). It's my favorite out of my collection even though it doesn't transform. I do have an Optimus Prime bias
As a board member on TFW said to me. Start without glue and only use it if you need it. So on that thought:

There were some areas where glue was nessasary. The blue leg armor by the hips, the chrome gas tanks on the shoulders and back, the knee guards, headlamps on the hips, the hinges that hold the doors on, the fingers(to make the joint bigger so they don't slide off) and a few other parts. Mind you I glued them only because I didn't want them to fall off while I handled it... And man did I want to play with this guy. If you feel like you want to assemble it then paint it then obviously don't glue anything. Pictures don't do it justice but here you go:

Wo wo generations was cancelled? I thought they were going to continue it? How could they leave out Trailbreaker/Hoist? Bummer. There's always third party although it hurts the wallet.
iGear Ratchet and Ironhide have my name it. I'm on it as soon as it goes on preorder.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is the badass TF used for the icon for this thread? He's presumably Prime in nature, just can't get over how cool he is.

It's not. Hasbro wants to continue it next year. Prime is the mainline next year, and with DOTM ending this year, Generations has ample opportunity to return.

Hello,

Found a few more Bumblebee DMK-02 kits at 45Fresh.com. Looks like they recently re-stocked.

same here. I love this line and they're the only transformers i collect. without it transformers is dead to me. I mean what are they gonna do when the movie stuff fades off of shelves come post christmas. Hasbro is dead in the water if they cant shovel out a post movie toy line. I mean, have they been pushing interest in the TF Prime toy line?

I don't think anyone needs to be worried about Hasbro doing a post-movie toy line. To paraphrase an old song:

♫ They've done it before, and they can do it again ♫.

Regardless, Generations is a US toy line and the thread title clearly states this thread is supposed to be about Japanese TFs.

So getting back on topic, anyone else going to try to get that Japan-only DOTM Skywarp figure, or do you think you can pass on it, with the hope that Hasbro does their own version?

It reminds me a lot of the Universe 2.0/Henkei dilemma from a few years ago regarding Thundercracker. Funny how that one ended, though.
