IDw Publishing has revealed some information on their upcoming multi-series crossover, Infestation, at the New Yourk Comic Con. Infestation will see the zombies of IDW's own "Zombies VS Robots" invade the universes of IDW's licensed properties Transformers, GI Joe, Ghostbusters and Star Trek (though bizarrely, not Angel, who you would think would be right at home fighting zombies...). The story will be told in two bookend issues, with each series also receiving two special issues to show the impact of the threat on their own universe. On the Transformers front, Transformers: Infestation #1 and 2 will be written by Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning who are also writing the bookends of the story, with Nick Roche handling art.
Find out more about the crossover over at Comic Book Resources. |

By way of a request on Facebook for 33 military personnel between 23 and 35 for extras, we can report that Transformers 3 will be filming a major scene featuring large numbers of NEST soldiers in the National Mall in Washington DC next week from Tuesday 12 October to Thursday 14 October. According to the extras request, it's three nights worth of shooting, so it's a night scene and the maximum number of 33 extras may not be required on all three nights.
Are we going to see an all-out battle between the Autobots and the Decepticons right in the nation's capital? Will this be an early part of the movie, like the battle in Shanghai in Revenge of the Fallen, which also used a large number of extras? Well it's Saturday and with it comes a nice surprise (and no, it's not me actually posting something.) Red Leader (TFW Supporter, owner of Kapow Toys, and all around nice chap) has splurged a bit on the bay of E and garnished a new Reveal the Shield Turbo Tracks which he has been so kind as to review for us today.
A bit of unfortunate news as he reports that it cannot do a flying car mode due to the placement of the wings. Otherwise this figure looks to be a near identical, more poseable, update to the G1 character. Click on the title to see all of Red Leaders pictures and read his full impressions of the figure! |

As many of you are aware, the Hub, Hasbro's new TV channel venture with Discovery, launched today and with it comes a brief commercial advertising Transformers Prime! The brief snippet of footage shows nothing more than the Autobots walking and a closeup of Optimus Prime's faceplate-less face while he's talking. Yes guys, he doesn't have a faceplate all the time here either!
Check out the footage below to whet your appetite for the new series, coming this holiday season: |

I wanted to make sure TFW2005 got the word out on the risk you might be taking with your vintage or reissue Predaking when adding on these third party parts. Check out this video review by our own optibotimus316 for the full story and images. We're told the manufacturer is aware of the issue and is sending out some sort of protective part. We'll keep you posted as more on this story develops.

2005 Boards member has attended the IDW Publishing panel at the New York Comic Con and has shared a few teasers of upcoming information that IDW were giving out about their future plans for the Transformers comics:
- February's Infestation crossover, which we reported on yesterday, will be in continuity, as a second mini-series will begin in March spinning out of the events of the Infestation crossover. Titled Heart of Darkness, it will get back to Galvatron, last seen in the All Hail Megatron coda. Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning, who are writing Infestation and the Transformers portion of the crossover, are also writing this one, with Ulises Farinas on art. - The Transformers Prime graphic novel will be released as individual issues, starting in January. - A second Transformers The Dark of the Moon prequel is planned, titled Rising Storm. John Barber is writing with Carlos Magno on art. Barber will also pen the Transformers The Dark of the Moon movie adaptation starting in April, with Jorge Moreno on art. - The next major arc of the Ongoing series is Revenge of the Decepticons, and will feature a newly redesigned Megatron by Don Figueroa. The arc will feature the Decepticons attacking on every level possible, physical, psychological and so on. - There will be a further print run on the Animated Allspark Almanacs. IDW Editor Andy Schmidt joked "we'll charge you $300 for them since we know you'll pay that much for them". On a sour note though while IDW wants to do further Animated comics there is nothing on the cards for 2011. - Four new Spotlights are in the works. Three names connected with the project: James Roberts, Nick Roche and Chris Mowry. May still be a little way off into the future though as it was not in the main IDW presentation. - Character wise, Ironhide and Sunstreaker will be seen again in 2011. There are "fluid plans" for the Dinobots, plus there is a possibility of the Quintessons making an appearance. Mike Costa also reportedly wants to bring Unicron into the mix, but IDW Editor Andy Schmidt says it will have to be something really good and not derivative for him to give it the green light. |

While not ground breaking news, a little reminder to the old school folks out there - Transformers Generation 1 - aka the original Transformers from the 80s - will be airing on network television again in the United States for the first time in a while.
Tonight at midnight G1 will air on The Hub, starting with More Than Meets The Eye Part 1 (Episode 1). So, if you are up, or have a DVR with some extra space, make sure to watch and/or record. Make sure to check your local listings for exact times. Some program guides are still listing the new joint venture Hub channel by Hasbro and Discovery as Discovery Kids, so if you can't find the Hub, check for that. And if you don't have either, call your cable company NOW! ![]() After you watch, make sure to sound off on what you thought by discussing it on the 2005 boards here: G1 on the Hub Discussion. Oh and BTW - 80's G.I. Joe airs right after it, starting with Ep 1 also. Discuss that over at Hiss Tank: G.I.JOE starts on the hub 10.11.10! |

Our friends and sponsors at Big Bad Toy Store have put up new official images of the Transformers 2010 Voyager Class Wave 4. Reveal the Shield, Hunt for the Decepticons or whatever else you want to call it, it doesn't change the awesomeness that are the three new toys in this assortment.
Strafe, first revealed some time ago in Wal-Mart computers, has finally been revealed! He's a redeco of Revenge of the Fallen NEST Alliance Mindwipe, painted primarily in white gray and red in homage to Generation 1 Strafe, right down to the orange on his weapons. He'll also be a good color match for the recently released Sunspot who can connect to him (or Mindwipe) in vehicle mode. Joining Strafe in this wave are Solar Storm Grappel aka Classics Grapple, who we have already seen is a heavily remolded Universe Inferno. The sole new mold in the assortment, and this news editor's personal favorite based on the images, is Lugnut! Lugnut is based on the Decepticon heavy muscle from Transformers Animated, but is given a more realistic Movie (or Classics) makeover. These pictures show he will be something special, with articulated fingers being evident, along with a full range of arm and leg articulation, but perhaps the most significant for those familiar with the Animated Lugnut toy - an articulated neck! No more need Lugnut fear an enemy attacking him from the side, because now he can look round and see them coming! All joking aside though, check out our mirror of the new pictures of this extremely promising assortment of Voyagers by clicking on the title of this story. |

Few weeks back, TFW2005 received a rumor regarding “the identity of the Mack Truck”. Majority of those who read it, refused to believe that he is actually, You-Know-Who (No, not Voldemort). But slowly (yet, unofficially) more news and rumors are pouring in, confirming the above said rumor. We’ll have to wait and see if the rumors are actually true. P.S : If you are wondering why Carly is on the Front Page? Well, that’s taken from a recent Transformers 3 filming at Washington. The sight looks good for the eyes instead of an old Mack truck. No offense You-Know-Who. Transformers 3/Transformers: The Dark Of The Moon/DOTM hits theaters July 1st, 2011. Few weeks back, TFW2005 received a rumor regarding “the identity of the Mack Truck”. My father in law who works for a special effects company in Chicago was one of a group whose job it was as he said Michael Bay states "make this truck look more demented." Also not sure if it is known or not but Patrick Dempsey’s Character is a super Billionaire computer expert, who helps the transformers buy building additional ones to help. Those NASCAR transformers are not partially transformed those are ones he created, along with he "power glove" we have seen Sam wearing.” Transformers 3/Transformers: The Dark Of The Moon/DOTM hits theaters July 1st, 2011. |

Welcome back to another segment of our randomly-updated TFW2005 Sound-Off!, where we give you, the fans, a chance to get together in one big group, say things, vote on things, and then share all that on our frontpage! We had a slight hiccup last time, but we do appreciate all the votes and the knowledge that YOU. WANT. HEADMASTERS!
We also wanted to take a quick second to notice Slag-A-Con 2010, the convention recently held in Chesterfield, Indiana. It came to our attention that Gregg Berger, the voice of the original G1 Grimlock, was asked, based on our last Sound-Off!, if he'd return to voice Grimlock if Shout Factory! chose to translate and dub the Headmasters series. We're tickled that you're all paying attention and enjoying our Sound-Off bits, so thank you! (Gregg said yes, by the way) On to the meat of this one! RODIMUS PRIME IS COMING! The next Masterpiece figure is that of Rodimus Prime (or Hot Rodimus, Rodimus Minor, Rodimus Convoy, Rodimus) and it's recently been revealed that he will see a release in both Japan and in the United States. But it was also revealed that there would be some differences - namely the lack of a trailer in the Hasbro version of the figure. That said, this question should be obvious! Which version of the Masterpiece Rodimus figure are you going to get? It should be noted that the rumor is that Hasbro is planning to throw some extra goodies in with their Rodimus figure, to make up for the lack of a trailer (or to justify the price-point they set, who knows for sure). It'll also cost less than the $200 USD that Takaratomy is charging for their version. Decisons, decisions! So what are you waiting for? HIT THE POLLS AND VOTE! We'll see you in a week or so with all the updates! Story image credit to the Japanese Pioneer DVD release of Transformers 2010. Thanks to Moroni Prime for the details of the Slag-A-Con 2010 convention. Randomly selected users will have their posts linked to and copied on to the frontpage. Hasbro has yet to give any release dates or details on their Rodimus figure, except that it won't come with a trailer. More details, as always, as they arise! |

We have received excellent news for all those who are thinking of joining the Transformers Collector's Club and are based outside the US - or even existing non-US members who are coming up for renewal. Pete Sinclair dropped by our 2005 Boards to pass on the good news that international membership rates have been reduced by $11, to $58 for memberships for those based in Canada, and $78 for those based internationally.
For those on the fence over joining this is great news - you'll get all the benefits of being a member including the six magazines per year and the exclusive membership figure - who for next year will be the popular Side Burn. Find out more and how to join up and take advantage of this reduction by visiting the Transformers Collector's Club homepage. |

These highly detailed gumkits bring together pocket sized kit versions of Ultra Magnus, Prowl and Jetfire, and what these images show is both the poseability and also the plastic colors of the new releases. All three are made from white, black and blue plastic as speculated, with Ultra Magnus taking the lion's share of the blue, Prowl the black and Jetfire the white. The rest of the details are achieved with stickers.

Well, never let it be said that Michael Bay and his team do not strive to make the best of a bad situation.
In Transformers Revenge of the Fallen, star Shia Labeouf was involved in a nasty car accident which needed him to have his hand in a support for part of the filming. It was written into the film by way of a "Spacebridge accident". And now it seems the process will repeat itself. Following on from Monday's Bumblebee crash on the Transformers 3 set, Don Watrud from Fox 5 speaking on Fox5 news @ 10pm confirms that Michael Bay will once again do his best with the cards he has been dealt and get the extremely unfortunate accident written into Transformers 3. |

Some images have been posted on Actoys.net of the upcoming Legends Class Starscream, from the 2010 / Reveal the Shield Legends Class assortment. Starscream shares the wave with a Generation 1 style Optimus Prime, gun Megatron, and "Gold Bumblebee" aka Goldbug. These images show that this version of Starscream is nice and accurate to the classic design, but is lacking the black paint on the head for that traditional Starscream look. But that's nothing that cannot be fixed with a little custom work.

However although earlier reports suggested the process would repeat itself and Monday's Bumblebee crash on the Transformers 3 set would be written into the film, this has since proven to not be the case. Nelson posted on the Shoot for the Edit forums to dispel the reports the accident would be written in. It's not going to be written into the script for the sake of decency. You don't put accidents into your movies, not kosher. Besides, they have a backup BB. |
