Next up from our friends at Auto Assembly is a preview of this year's fanzine, the Cybertronian Times. The Cybertronian Times has been running since 1998, and at past Auto Assemblies has been soon as an add-on. This year is a year of two firsts for the magazine - it will be the first time that the Cybertronian Times is available in color and it will be the first time that it is available for free! Yes, the Cybertronian Times will be freely available to all attendees and non-attendees as a part of their goodie bag.
To celebrate Auto Assembly has a preview of one of the two comic strips to be featured in the magazine. Called "The Hunter" it is set in the IDW Robots in Disguise comic continuity and features Sideswipe on the trail of a rogue Decepticon. It is written and illustrated by Ed and Ben Pirrie with a supporting team for colours and the strip's cover page. Auto Assembly 2012 is taking place over the weekend of 3-5 August at the Hilton Metropole Hotel in Birmingham, England. Find out more and pre-register at the Auto Assembly homepage. |

Holy new toy release Batman! We've got not one but two hot new Transformers toy releases to report on! First of all, in sleek black with yellow accents it is the new Kre-O Stealth Bumblebee set. He's the first to make it to retail in the US so far from the new assortment of sets. He was found in Kmart on Addison, Illinois - seems like K-Mart is the place to check lately for new toys!
Second there's also good news for the fans of the Bot Shots - the two new three packs have arrived on US store shelves. The air set of Jetfire, Powerglide and Skyquake and the ground forces set of Shockwave, Brawl and Ironhide have just been spotted as well. These were also found in the same Kmart on Addison, Il. Happy hunting everyone! We've had a great run of luck on new toy releases lately - who knows what might turn up next? |

We've got a little treat for you now. You might recall earlier this week that we reported on the first assortment of the new Generations Fall of Cybertron toys hitting retail in Asia. The assortment is made up of Optimus Prime, Shockwave and Autobot Jazz as they appear in the new game from High Moon Studios. Well, luck was on my side because I've got all three of the new toys in hand! Since fellow fans have focused a lot of love on Optimus and Shockwave so far, I thought I'd start with a look at the underdog of the assortment, Jazz.
Fall of Cybertron Jazz is a rather cool little design. He's decently articulated (no waist and his head movement is a little limited) but the robot mode is quite pleasing to mess about with. The transformation is clever, simple and intuitive - perhaps too simple compared to past toys, but it delivers on two good modes. Overall while he might be the least of the assortment's three new toys, Jazz is still worth checking out once he reaches retail near you. As always pictures speak volumes, so with great pride I kick off our galleries for this new Transformers toy line - open that link below to check out our gallery of Fall of Cybertron Jazz. Toyworld, makers of the unofficial Generation 1 Megatron Hegamon have unveiled a new project. Concept artwork here shows they plan to tackle a Headmaster next - with a Generation 1 style Hardhead. The concepts show a robot design in the same style as Hegemon - a design very clearly pulling in Hasbro's original Hardhead design, with a few design tweaks to make some elements function with full articulation.
Please note this is an unofficial product and is not endorsed or licensed by Hasbro or Takara-Tomy. |

We've got another gallery of the newly released Transformers Fall of Cybertron toys to share with you now friends! Up next is the big bot himself, Optimus Prime. He's got a new barrel chested heroic look for Transformers Fall of Cybertron and a toy of the new look to go with it. Like Jazz who we shared a gallery of with you yesterday, Optimus is very much simplified in terms of transformation when compared to past toys, such as his War for Cybertron incarnation. This is not a bad thing at all though because the transformation is not even slightly frustrating, like some more complicated toys have been, and his poseability is nothing short of incredible. There's a lot of good movement in this toy, and thanks to the design of the feet he balances very well.
Open the link below to check out our gallery and some of the many poses this new version of Optimus Prime can strike. He's a really fun toy, certainly one both kids and fans alike can enjoy. Transformers Fall of Cybertron Optimus Prime Gallery |

Auto Assembly have revealed another piece of artwork for their 2012 convention. Today we have our first look at the Auto Assembly 2012 lithograph which is also the cover art for the Auto Assembly 2012 comic Iacon Independent. Those familiar with the old UK Transformers comics by Marvel UK will recognize this scene - it is a homage to the first appearance of Galvatron, Cyclonus and Scourge in the comic in the classic story arc Target 2006. It's limited to 1'000 copies and only available to those who attend Auto Assembly 2012 or get a non-attending packed, with lineart by Marvel UK artist Jeff Anderson and colored by Kris Carter.
Auto Assembly takes place in a little over a month, on the weekend of 3-5 August 2012 at the Hilton Metropole hotel in Birmingham UK. Find out more and pre-register over at the Auto Assembly 2012 homepage. |

This weekend is the World Hobby Fair in Japan, and Takara-Tomy has a booth there showing off a lot of their upcoming releases. Unlike the Tokyo Toy Show there is no massive surprise reveal of upcoming toys - however the first six Arms Micron Single Packs are on show and all are looking particularly sharp. There's also the campaign prize toys of a golden chromed Arms Micron Optimus Prime and Hades (from Darkness Megatron) along with a sound base on show.
There's also a new Cybertron Satellite campaign Prime thrown in for good measure, this one with a head inpired by the Great Robot Base of Diaclone fame. All pictures attached to this post come to you courtesy of 2005 Boards member Masabon. Masabon also got the first three Arms Micron single packs, which were being sold early at this event and has shared some in-hand pictures of these with us. Read on to check out all of the pictures both of the event and of the three Arms Microns who combine to form the "Dark Matter Calibre" sword. |

Last but by no means least in our Wave 1 Transformers Fall of Cybertron toy galleries is possibly the most anticipated of the three new releases - Shockwave! Why is Shockwave so anticipated? He's doing triple-duty - filling that space in your Classics collection for a Classics Shockwave, as well as fitting into your Fall of Cybertron collection and if the Tokyo Toy Show is anything to go by this might also be your toy for Transformers Prime Shockwave (at least, Japan is getting this toy as their Prime Shockwave, make of that what you will.)
Good thing he is an utterly awesome toy then! Like Optimus Prime and Jazz in the new Generations assortment, Shockwave is a little diminutive of stature, but good things come in small packages. Shockwave has a cool and clever transformation that incorporates his weapon into the alternate mode, a nice solid robot mode and plenty of poseability. He lacks the waist swivel and ankle articulation, but the rest is all there. Plus there are lots of options for his gun - either as a handgun, or clipped over either forearm as a full on gun arm, or indeed with the silver section detached to make something that looks like an entirely different kind of gun. He's by far the star of this assortment. Open the link below to check out the gallery of this awesome new Decepticon - it is the only logical thing to do! Official Facebook Page for Transformers: Fall Of Cybertron has been updated with some really cool info.
First on the list is a better quality version of the new Trailer we saw yesterday. The new trailer is named “Through the Matrix” and is filled with quite a lot of emotions. How tough we know our beloved Optimus Prime may be, here we see him calling out for help in desperate need. “Metroplex in action! In Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, you'll battle through a riveting story, experience a variety of gameplay, fight monster bots, and meet the walking city called Metroplex.” More happy news comes in a form of a release date. It appears as though the release date is now a week earlier than what was previously planned. The game is now releasing August 21st, 2012 for PS3, XBox360, and PC. Pretty great news eh? But Wait! There’s more… (that certainly sounded like a commercial, oh well) One of the moderators of the page has left a comment mentioning that Host Migration is possible. There will be no Collector’s Edition and he also mentioned that a new Multiplayer Trailer is coming soon. “no CE for this game. We want everyone to have the same great experience. Also Hasbro has a huge line of figures and an art book on the way. Pick those up! Thanks for the support!” “a mp trailer is in the works right now actually ;-D” “you'll be pleased that we will have host migration.” If you are visiting San Diego Comic-Con 2012, make sure to take a look at the Multiplayer Demo happening as well. Update: NEW Fall of Cybertron release dates 8.21 US. 8.22 AUD 8.24 EU Check http://www.transformersgame.com for preorder updates later today. |
