Next up in our series of Transformers Fall of Cybertron Deluxe Wave 3 Galleries we have a look at Sideswipe. Sideswipe is one of the three remolded figures in the assortment. He's a remold of Autobot Jazz, and he is the most extensively remolded of the three reused molds in this wave.
Starting with the vehicle mode, the new look is very different to Jazz's car mode, and conveys that sleek, powerful look the Sideswipe character is usually known for. So far so good. Robot mode though was where Jazz was at his weakest, sorry to say the same is true of Sideswipe. The remolding to give Sideswipe his game-accurate spoiler has removed the peg that was on the Jazz version of the mold that helped the back to peg in. What this means is now the robot mode's upper torso rests on two clips near the shoulders, and they like to pop out quite often. There's also something a bit off in the whole face sculpt. That being said, the gun - which has an extending barrel in a nice touch - is a very welcome addition, but is generally too heavy for Sideswipe to hold properly, especially with the aforementioned shoulder issues. All in all, Sideswipe is easily the weakest release of the wave. One for fans of the character or the overall design style, but not one I'd recommend over the other toys in the assortment, especially with Starscream, Kickback and Air Raid in the same cases. Open the link below to check out the gallery, which includes some comparisons with Fall of Cybertron Jazz as well as Universe Sideswipe. Transformers Fall of Cybertron Sideswipe Gallery |

For those lucky selected few, tomorrow brings with it the beginning of something special - a chance to take part in the closed beta of Transformers Universe from Jagex. From 18:00 on 12/12/12 those lucky few will be able to sign in to the game and check it out for the first time - according to the email from Jagex, "This first session will focus on an initial slice of combat features only. A core selection of 4 Transformer warriors per faction will be available to compete with on a team death-match map. More features and content will be added over successive BETAs."
A second session is slated for 12/16/12. Don't get too excited to hear too much in the way of first impressions - all beta participants will be required to agree to a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), meaning they will not be allowed to talk about their impressions of the game while it is still very much in a development phase. So for those of you who took part in the initial survey sent out in the last few weeks, check your mailboxes to see if you will be one of these privileged few. |

It's concept art time! Following up on the Sideswipe design he posted on his own blog, Emiliano Santalucia has uploaded three new concept art images of the Aligned continuity Jazz design. As with the Sideswipe artwork from last time, this piece of work is for a concept he did when working with Hasbro to develop a Transformers production and character bible for Hasbro, more than likely the master document detailing Hasbro's Aligned Continuity project which comprises Transformers Prime, the Transformers War for Cybertron video games, and the Exodus novels series.

Site sponsor Robot Kingdom has updated their preorder listings for the upcoming second wave of voyager figures from Generations Fall of Cybertron. This wave is comprised of Blaster and the highly anticipated Grimlock. These new in package pics also gives us the character's bios:
Grimlock "There was a time when the rage that boils inside Grimlock would have driven him straight to the ranks of the Decepticons. But while his flawed manner of speaking may make him sound strange, he's smart enough to recognize a bully when he sees one - and Grimlock doesn't like bullies. It's this that fuels his dedication to fight against the Decepticons." Blaster "Autobot Blaster has amassed an incredible amount of music from across the galaxy. From hundreds of worlds he's gathered the loudest, fastest, most brutal, ear splitting guitar shredding rock-and-roll he could find. When you charge into battle alongside Autobot Blaster, you are accompanied with a thunderous soundtrack of which the mightiest viking would approve" |

A pair of ebay auctions have popped up with our first look at the new Rescue Bots Energize two-pack figures in package. Shown here are Bumblebee with Graham Burns and Optimus Prime with little Cody Burns. These two packs feature the human characters from the cartoon series alongside non-tranformable versions of the Rescue Bots Transformers. These two comprise wave 1 along with Blades with Graham Burns, Heatwave with Kade Burns and Chase with Charlie Burns.
While we don't have photo proof with a receipt, the seller apparently purchased these at a local Wal-Mart. Click on the title bar to check out the pics. |
