The Masterpiece line continues this month with the release of MP-17 Prowl, another modern upgrade for a classic character. The figure utilizes a license from Nissan, formerly Datsun, for the Fairlady 280Z - the car the original Prowl G1 toy was originally based on. Sporting the Japanese police color scheme, Takara-Tomy fully keeps the essence of the original in both modes perfectly. Prowl is in scale with Masterpiece Optimus Prime (MP-10, v2) and Sideswipe / Red Alert - which should make any G1 fan looking for a beefed up 84/85 shelf happy.
We've shot over 70 images of MP-17 Prowl for you, feel free to check it out below. Some key shots are also attached to the story. Enjoy! Masterpiece Prowl Gallery at TFW2005 |

Site sponsor, Bigbadtoystore, has added a new preorder for the next offering from Keith's Fantasy Club. Teased last month, this figure will be a reuse of their Mugan Scope aka unofficial Perceptor figure. This figure will feature a new head and paint to make him a new unofficial homage to Soundwave. The figure will also come with a new cassette mold, Badbat, based on Ratbat. The Ratbat figure does not fit within Mugan Vox's chest but looks pretty sharp none the less. This two pack will run you $100.00 and is scheduled for a release next month.

Our sponsors Big Bad Toy Store have listed preorders for a reissue of the THS-02B Hybrid Style Convoy Black Version. The Hybrid Style series was released originally in 2005-6 with small, die-cast versions of the then-current incarnation of Optimus Prime from Transformers Cybertron and a version of Generation 1 Optimus Prime, or Convoy as he was known at that time in Japan. The Hybrid Style Generation 1 Convoy would then go on to get a limited run redeco through E-Hobby, with a Generation 2 styled trailer and a black deco to match. By all accounts, that's what we're seeing a new release of here - the limited run black version. In order to distinguish this Asian Market re-release from the original E-Hobby exclusive one, the arms and legs are said to feature some gold paint applications.
Curious to see what the original version of the black Hybrid Style Convoy looks like? Be sure to check out our site gallery for a selection of photos of this very cool little high-end collectible. Check out the listing on Big Bad Toy Store Update - Robot Kingdom have also listed preorders. |

Will Friedle, a well known voice actor for such characters as Batman (Terry McGinnis) from Batman Beyond and Lion-O in the new Thundercats (and Blue Beetle and Deadpool and ...) - is now the voice of Bumblebee in Transformers Prime. That is one impressive list. He had a chance to sit down with Comicbook.com to talk about his late arrival to the Transformers universe and what it was like to voice Bee in the last couple episodes.

Fans of The Transformers 1986 film will be happy to hear that Vince DiCola's original score will be seeing it's first 'official' release via Intrada/Sony.
Vince tweeted out earlier today the announcement: * FINALLY... My Transformers score will be released in a few months by Intrada/Sony!!! This will be the first 'official' release of the collection and I'm so excited to finally have the opportunity to inform my fans that this is actually happening! Obviously it took a very long time to reach this point, but hey Good things take time, right?! When I have a definite release date I'll post it here, so stay tuned. Thanks to Doug and all the good folks at Intrada and Sony for making this happen! Best, Vince It's safe to assume the score will be similar to the BotCon 1997 exclusive CD that was released, featuring some of the background score and alternate pieces. Keep an eye on Mr. DiCola's Twitter feed and TFW for the release date! |

TFW2005 Member Autobot_Jacer and my fellow staffer Lumpy is bringing us come very cool photos of Transformers 4: Age Of Extinction vehicles heading back to California after completing filming in Chicago.
They've managed to grab some close-up photos showing an Autobot rubsign-like insignia on the rusty Cab-Over and a skull logo on the Rallyfighters. Lumpy stated that they did not notice any Decepticon insignia on the two Rallyfighters. Leadfoot was also spotted being transported as well. Member Tonyformer is also bringing us an image of DOTM Ratchet heading back to Cali. Although they were not much seen on the set, there was definitely some presence of Leadfoot and Ratched being involved with the 4th movie. Autobot Hound was recently seen in China where some other vehicles may join him for the continuation of Principal Photography. Thanks for the pics guys. |

Comics Alliance has lifted the veil on a new Transformers and GI Joe crossover! The promotional artwork, done in a retro style, is said to be telling a story that will be "cosmic in scale". Tom Scioli will be doing the art for the series, and will be co-writing alongside IDW Transformers editor John Barber.
This will be the first time that the Transformers and GI Joe have appeared in the same story together since the Devil's Due GI Joe / Transformers Dark Horizon miniseries pitted the Autobots against Unicron and Cobra-La in 2007. The two franchises have a long history of crossovers, beginning back in the original Marvel comics series, with highlights including the Generation 2 prelude published in the latter issues of the original Marvel GI Joe series and the first GI Joe / Transformers miniseries from Devil's Due, which saw the Autobots and Decepticons taking on alternate modes inspired by GI Joe vehicles. There is no information yet on when this is set to be released, or how many issues it will run for, but we are assuming on the pattern of past crossovers that a miniseries of between four and six issues seems likely. |
