Comic Book Resources is bringing us the full details on what IDW shared at their WonderCon panel, which was apparently very busy and packed with fans. Leading the panel was John Barber along with Mairghread Scott, Flint Dille, and others. They each took the time to share some details about what the future of Transformers comics will hold in Robots in Disguise, Windblade, and More than Meets the Eye, and more. In addition, some other trivia was also shared. To give a brief summary...
• Some more details of how Windblade came into being • More on the previously-reported Primacy series that Dille is writing • Unfortunately for movie fans, it is confirmed that there will be no prequel comic for Age of Extinction • Some details about the Transformers vs. G.I. Joe crossover comic, explaining how well it's coming along • Barber also goes into detail about how the idea of Autobot Megatron came into being • Who will be leading the Decepticons in Robots in Disguises' second season • More on Soundwave's character • On the subject of a possible My Little Pony/Transformers crossover, the response was that it had been pushed for, but there appears to be no concrete plans at the moment • Another fan asked Barber the possibility of publishing Megatron's "gospel", Towards Peace. Unfortunately, there are no plans for that at the moment (but fingers crossed there's a chance of it happening in the future!) • Finally, Windblade's character is gone into a little bit more You can check out the full details after the jump (but beware of spoilers!) and discuss on the boards! |

Following on from our previously-reported WonderCon news, TFW2005 boards member daimchoc was gracious enough to forward us some photos taken at the WonderCon IDW Transformers panel. These slides show various items from upcoming comics, including new, never-before-seen pages from upcoming issues of More than Meets the Eye, Robots in Disguise, Windblade, Transformers vs. G.I. Joe, and the newly-announced series, Primacy.
Check out our images after the jump, but tread carefully - for the images could be considered minor spoilers for what is to come... |

With the demise of Transformers Generation 2, the Transformers brand once again faced oblivion, and this time, it looked like Transformers might disappear from store shelves worldwide. Hasbro decided to take a gamble and hand the brand over to their subsidiary, Kenner, who had made the Star Wars and Super Powers lines in the 70s and 80s, and was doing well with Batman at the time. The result was a complete rebooting of the Transformers franchise. Cars, jets and other vehicles gave way to realistic animals with molded fur texture. Subgroups disappeared and line-wide size classes were established. Articulation on a level with the Cyberjets and other later Generation 2 designs became the norm.
The Beast Wars had begun. |

Amazon.com has added a new preorder page for a Transformers: Phase 1 Omnibus Edition. The omnibus edition collects the entirety of the Transformers: Infiltration, Escalation and Devastation miniseries written by Simon Furman, which together kicked off the IDW Transformers comics universe. The preorder listing bills the omnibus as the "collection of the first three arcs of IDW's Transformers continuity", though it seems someone forgot a little thing called Stormbringer...
The omnibus volume presents a great way to get up to speed on the earliest part of IDW's Transformers universe. It's a paperback, priced at $21.34 and due for a release on September 16, 2014. There is no cover art available for this volume yet - so for now, enjoy this cover art from Transformers: Infiltration #0, pulled from the TFW comic resources section. |

The Transformers Game Facebook page has added a couple of new images showing off Transformers: Age of Extinction Bumblebee in the new game from Activision, Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark. These new images which are almost certainly not from gameplay footage but rather promo screens show off the new earth mode of Bumblebee, who transforms into a 1970's muscle car in the new movie.

Popular 3rd party group, Fanstoys, have updated with information on their next release as well as three more releases planned after that. You may know Fanstoys based off of their popular fan produced, unofficial Masterpiece Shockwave, Quakewave. Due for release soon is Scoria, their follow up, an unofficial Masterpiece Dinobot Slag. Tonight, the group has updated with two options for their third intended release named Soar, an unofficial Masterpiece Swoop. Their take on Dinobot Swoop will be available in two different color options. Red, for fans of the G1 toy, and Blue, for fans of his appearance in the original G1 cartoon.
On top of this exciting news, we have a picture revealing Fantoys next three releases after Scoria and Soar. The lineup of toys is called Iron Dibots, and unofficial Masterpiece versions of Snarl, Sludge and finally Grimlock will follow suit. Grimlock is surprising, as fans already have a well represented Masterpiece version of the character. But, fans unhappy that Scoria is going to be taller than the Hasbro/Takara release will be happy to hear a more scaled version is being planned. Check out the new pics after the break! |

1997 arrived and the Beast Wars entered their second year. The toys developed and became more complex, dropping some elements such as battlemasks and flip-changers, but also bringing back limited triple changing and combiners. Transformers returned to Japan once again with “Beast Wars: Super Robot Lifeform Transformer”, both as a toyline and also for the first time in seven years, a cartoon (albeit a dub of Mainframe’s work heavy on adlibbing). Amid all of this, the first Botcon Japan was held, and Kenner experimented with bringing back vehicle Transformers with the Machine Wars…

Here is some good news for UK fans looking to expand their Masterpiece Transformers collections - via 2005 boards member robotmel, we have learned that UK Toys R Us stores have the upcoming Hasbro versions of Masterpiece Prowl and Sunstorm in their computer systems. Prowl is priced at £59.99 with a reference of 958298 and Sunstorm at £69.99 with a reference of 958883. The prices in turn might be a clue at the approximate retail price of these two Masterpieces when they also arrive in the US later this year.

Hasbro has updated their Official Transformers Toy Website with a new look and content to market their upcoming toyline for Transformers: Age Of Extinction.
The site gives us a very detailed look at the new simpler transformation. If you visit the Games menu you'll find some neat little Flash games featuring the characters from the movie; including Lockdown, Bumblebee, Drift and Grimlock . "Energon Rally" features a side-scrolling Temple Run type of gameplay while "Feed Grimlock" features Kre-O toys where you… well, feed Vehicons to Grimlock (This is a game for kids!?!) in an Angry Birds style gameplay. Construct-bots game has been updated with AOE parts and will allow you to create your own Grimlockdown. Toys menu contains info and images of AOE Toys and you can virtually Transform the toys via the Bots menu. Videos menu contains the trailers (which we've seen before) and might get updated with new content. So watch out for that. Also worth noticing is a "Coming Soon" notice for the Transformers 4 Mobile Game App. ...and one more thing about the site: SPOILERS! |

Botcon have announced the fifth member of their convention boxed set today and it is an impressive piece indeed. The fifth member of the set is Ginrai, a fiery red and orange redeco of the venerable Classics Optimus Prime figure.
Ginrai is the second Cybertronian Knight in the boxed set, and by way of an alternate wrist transformation is shown here holding his windvane as a shield - the windvane being adorned with the new symbol of the Cybertronian Knights. The toy's deco is based on the "Fire Guts" Ginrai featured in the 1988 Japanese series, Transformers Chojin (Super God) Masterforce, which in that series was the final attack of the Godmaster, Super Ginrai and his powered up form God Ginrai. An E-Hobby exclusive depicting the attack was released in the early 2000s, which is where this deco takes its cues from. With the reveal of Ginrai the five figures in this year's Botcon boxed set are known, and they are: Ginrai from Classics Optimus Prime Devcon from Generations Scourge, with a new head Scorponok from Energon Scorponok, retooled to use a remolded Encore Spike as his Headmaster Ferak from Universe Cyclonus Cannonball from Prime Ratchet, with a new head Botcon 2014 is being held over the weekend of June 19 - 22 in Pasadena, California. Visit the Botcon homepage for more information on the convention, the official 30th anniversary of Transformers convention and also the 20th anniversary Botcon! |

TFW2005 boards member Fox13 has pointed out to us that Wamart.com's pre-order page for Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark has updated with information saying that you will receive Stinger as a pre-order bonus. It is apparently only at Walmart, so you'll have to purchase the game there if you want him.
But, if you're unable to buy from Walmart, going by past events, there is a possibility that Stinger will be made DLC later on. There's no word yet if any other retailers will have exclusive pre-order bonuses for the game, so keep an eye on TFW2005 to see if any others pop up. (Awesome Stinger image provided by TunaKaan!) |

Surely most of you remember the recent Transformers 4 Age of Extinction footage which was shown on the new Samsung Curved Ultra HD TVs to promote the movie, the product and the new 4K format.
2005 Boards member Bariprime and I learned that they showcase the TV with the footage at a shopping mall, near to both of us. Bariprime made it there Sunday afternoon and took three wonderful videos of all the screens. Sadly, when I got there next day, there was no booth at all, I was only couple of hours late. But at least I was lucky enough to find only one screen that showcase the footage but slightly shorter. Check out all of the videos after the jump. We missed a couple of important shots like the mysterious helicopter bot and the first look at Hound. But you guys should search for it too, Samsung is really promoting their new TV everywhere. And 4K shots look absolutely stunning! Be sure to follow TFW as we brings you the best news, as it happens. |

This was the year that the Beast Wars series truly came of age, with episode after episode that continually show up on fan’s “favorite episode” lists, and some of the very best toys of the Beast era, the Transmetals. Japan meanwhile took their own path once again with a new cel-animated series “Beast Wars Second”, complete with some new Japan only toy releases.
