The Wrap reports that Paramount Pictures has extended their deal with Director Michael Bay for another three years.
“With an ever-growing, worldwide fan base, Michael is truly one of the most inspired and beloved filmmakers of our time,” said Brad Grey, Paramount chairman and CEO. “We take great pride in the fact that Michael is part of the Paramount family and we look forward to growing our productive and successful partnership.” This news should come as no surprise since his latest movie Transformers: Age Of Extinction is on the verge of breaking US$ 1 Billion mark on the Worldwide Box-Office. “Over the years I have become part of the Paramount family,” Bay enthused in a press release. “There is a synergy there that feels different than any other place in Hollywood. From Brad Grey and Rob Moore, where my relationship goes back more than a decade, to my very good friend Adam Goodman, and to Philippe Dauman, who has put so much trust in me, and with the powerful marketing of Josh Greenstein and Megan Colligan, Paramount makes for a very comfortable place to work.” However, whether he will return to the Transformers Director Chair is still yet to be determined. The news post image is from the Director himself. This is how he introduced his new pet cat; Fifi to the world. Coming from Mr. Bay, we wouldn't have expected anything else. |

HKGTF's Facebook page has uploaded something very interesting for us this morning - a prototype image of Takara's AD31 Ultimate Power Mode Optimus Prime figure. This is a retool of the already-existing Leader Class Optimus Prime mold with new, more movie-accurate head, chest, skirt, arm, sword, and foot sculpts, making this quite possibly the most screen-accurate transforming version of the Age of Extinction Optimus Prime model we've gotten yet.
Check out the image and discuss after the break! |

This is not a traditional News Post, but rather a something to read and discuss for the weekend. Seeking Alpha; a website dedicated to keeping an eye on financial markets reports that Hasbro's Transformers would be a key player to save the Toy Industry.
With Smartphones, Tablets, Consoles and PCs, it is said that more and more kids are turning away from toys and are seeking digital entertainment each day. Not to exaggerate things but, people do question whether this is an Age Of Extinction… for the Toys. Nancy Kross of Seeking Alpha highlights that Hasbro and Mattel are the two most prominent companies in the US toy market and highlights the importance of Transformers: Robots In Disguise as well as other toys when it come to save the industry. To quote… "The previous year was not a bad one for Mattel alone, but even Hasbro sales faced a setback during the holiday season. The company’s revenues remained flat with $4.08 billion in 2013. Net earnings for the year were $286.2 million, or $2.17 per share, compared to $336.0 million, or $2.55 per share in 2012. Weaker sales in North American market were the main reason for the company’s falling profits, however, the company still fared better than its competitor Mattel owing to improved performance in emerging markets. In the US and Canada, sales declined by 5%, whereas revenues were up by the same proportion in international markets. The performance in 2014 is, however, expected to be better owing to new toy lines like “Transformers: Robots in Disguise,” based on action movies introduced this year and the re-imagined Littlest Pet Shop, My Little Pony Pop and the all-new My Little Pony Equestria Girls product expected to be launched in the second half of the year." You can read the entire article at Seeking Alpha. However, registration is required. |

Box Office Mojo has reported that Transformers: Age of Extinction's Worldwide Box Office numbers have surpassed the $1 Billion mark, making it the SECOND Transformers movie to pass the milestone after 2011's Transformers: Dark of the Moon.
Age of Extinction is also now the 19th Highest Grossing movie of all time (Not adjusted for inflation) and still has several premieres to go in the International Market. Could Age of Extinction surpass Dark of the Moon? Only time will tell. |

After a slight delay due to a little convention in The Great White North, the TFW2005 Creative Spotlights return yet again! This time, the spotlights from the Radicons and Fanart sections weren't taken from a two week or monthly interval, but rather if the projects were completed from June 16th to July 31st and followed the pre-existing rules they were eligible for a TFW2005 Creative Spotlight! Next month the spotlights return to a once-a-month basis to make room for... well. You'll see. Onward to the featured customs and fan-art!

The Auto Assembly website has announced an interesting bit of news for fans of third party products - this year, for the first time ever, the convention will be hosting its very own third party panel! Check it out:
Auto Assembly 2014 is certainly a year of firsts for us… we’ve been introducing a lot of new items to the convention for all of you this year with a photo studio courtesy of Nick Hardy, a car display, a multitude of other surprises and now – for the first time ever – a Third Party Panel! Taking place in the Main Hall on Sunday, Ceno Kibble (Third Party toy consultant and writer for MMC and Mech iDeas) and Cassy Sark (freelance designer for MMC, KFC, iGear and others) will take to the stage to host a special Third Party Toy Panel bringing you an exclusive sneak peak at some of the forthcoming items we can expect to see from the third party world over the next twelve months. For those of you interested in the fantastic range of unofficial toys out there, this is going to be an amazing event and one that’s not to be missed! Both Ceno and Cassy have worked tirelessly over the last couple of years to bring us the Auto Assembly convention exclusive toys which will be on sale over the weekend, so you know that this panel is going to be something special… To see this you will either need a full Weekend or Sunday ticket for the convention but don’t worry if you haven’t already pre-registered as there’s still time to guarantee your place at Europe’s Largest Transformers Convention! Auto Assembly 2014 is taking place over the weekend of Friday 8th – Sunday 10th August at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel in Birmingham where we’ll be celebrating 30 years of Transformers so come and join us! You can discuss this exciting announcement after the jump! |

Thanks to TFW2005 boards member Tekering we have our first colored image of the Masterpiece advertised Brawny by independent group Badcube (their take on the G1 character Brawn); as a side note however, these colors are not final and can be tweaked. As you can see from the image provided, Brawny will fit well with the current scale of the Masterpiece line. Brawny is available now for preorder in a two-pack with Backland ("G1 Outback") and slated for September release.
Continue the discussion of these two figures after the jump! |

Coming via Transformers Asia, it looks like the Hasbro version of the Masterpiece MP-10 mold will be seeing a reissue in select Asia countries this October 2014. The Hasbro version you may recall was the very difficult to find Toys 'R Us exclusive. Unfortunately no price has been provided yet, so we can only speculate given past Asia exclusive prices.
We'll update you with more information as it becomes available. |
