Ryan Church, who has provided high quality concept artwork for a number of films including Transformers Revenge of the Fallen, Star Trek and two of the Star Wars Prequels, has begun to release some of the concept art work that he did for Revenge of the Fallen on his personal website. These incredible images give us a unique look at the creative process behind Revenge of the Fallen, and also give us a different take on some of the locations that were only shown briefly during the film, such as the Decepticon starship's exterior and interior, as well as a certain weapon of planetary destruction.
Click here to visit Ryan Church's homepage and check out all the images, then click discuss to talk about them right here on our 2005 Boards. |

Considering that Revenge of the Fallen Deluxe Wave 4 was found at US Retail just yesterday, I don't think anyone was expecting this sighting to come through quite so soon! Long time 2005 Boards member MegaHavok has spotted the Wave 5 Deluxes from Transformers Revenge of the Fallen at the Chino Hills Target in Southern California. This wave includes the Autobots Arcee, Swerve and the Decepticon Stalker Scorponok. Also spotted at the same Target store were the two newest entries into the Star Wars Crossovers series, Ahsoka Tano and the MagnaGuard Droid.

According to new auctions on ioffer.com, more knock offs appear to be on the horizon in the forms of Generation 1 Sideswipe, Red Alert, Springer, and Octane.
Please be aware of these imitations when you purchase and be sure to do as much research as possible to insure you know whether or not you are buying a genuine article or a knock off. |

Courtesy of 2005 Boards member tamo536, we have our very first proper look at Transformers Revenge of the Fallen's Deluxe class Thrust out of packaging. As well as giving us a nice, clear look at the remolded head, tamo536 also shares his first impressions on this cowardly Decepticon remold of the Autobot Breakaway. We have received details of two exciting contests running this year at Europe's largest Transformers Convention, Auto Assembly! The first is the contest you have all been waiting for - the contest for all registered guests to have a chance to take part in a script reading with Gregg Berger (Generation 1 Grimlock), Ian James Corlett (Beast Wars Cheetor), comic artist Simon Williams, and - subject to appearance - Neil Kaplan (Robots in Disguise Optimus Prime). To find out how to participate in this contest which is sure to be a lot of fun for all involved, click here to read the full details!
Also running is a contest to win free entry to the 2010 convention. All you have to do to be in the draw to win is pre-register - that's all! If you are the lucky holder of tickets 400, 409, 423 or 500, you win a free ticket to the 2010 convention! There will also be a drawing at the convention for free entry to Auto Assembly 2010 and other chances to win free tickets so even if you do not get one of the magic numbers, you could still win! Click here for more about the Milestones contest. |

A nice gallery of images of the Tokyo Toy Show exclusive version of the Revenge of the Fallen Voyager Class Optimus Prime have been posted on this Japanese hobby blog. This version of Optimus Prime is almost the same as the one released in the US, with a small exception - the Chinese characters meaning "Big General" have been removed from this version, because they have a different meaning in Japanese - "chief chef", more specifically, "chief chef of a small restaurant". Hardly an appropriate association for the heroic leader of the Autobots!

In financial news, Hasbro has today posted their second quarter earnings and are reporting strong profits on the back of movie tie-in toys, namely Transformers Revenge of the Fallen and GI Joe. Check out the original article here on Yahoo, and a copy of Hasbro's conference call here. The conferance call delivers a very nice three hit combo of ways in which Transformers has helped Hasbro, and will continue to do so into 2010 and beyond:
- Extremely strong sales of ShoutFactory G1 series, 100k units sold in the first four weeks, described as "exceptional". - Expect continued momentum from a Revenge of the Fallen DVD release this fall - Expect continued momentum to continue into 2010 from TV support next year |

Just wanted to remind folks that San Diego Comic Con 2009 is coming up this week. TFW2005 will be there each day bringing you any Transformers related stuff we find. Hasbro will be there with a booth of product, possibly with new toys (but not likely) and giving a panel. If there is anything to note, we will pass it along.
Make sure to check our sister sites for other SDCC info through out the week - HissTank.com for G.I. Joe SDCC coverage, Toyark.com for Toy and Action Figure SDCC coverage, and IshTalkers.com for everything else Comic Con! |

Transformers Revenge of the Fallen is now at $760 million worldwide.
What does this mean? It means it has just barely surpassed the lifetime (theatrical) profits of the first Movie. The first film took in $708 million worldwide, but cost $50 million less to make ($150 million production budget for movie 1, $200 million for movie 2). Keep in mind that this is only after 1 month of release for Revenge of the Fallen vs the entire lifetime of the first film. |

A quick update from Comic Con early on, check out pics of what seems to be the Autobot Edition Chevy Camaro. Outside was mostly covered up, but the inside reveals a stitched Autobot logo on the center armrest. Outside features chrome Autobot symbol under the Camaro logo, and Autobot logos in the rim centers. Whether or not this is the "official" Camaro Autobot edition mentioned by GM earlier this year, or just a custom job by Hasbro for display purposes is not known. Either way, enjoy the pics!
