Just watched the Iron man episode. What a let down this series turned out to be. The only good thing about this episode was Iron Man.

As much as I wanted to like this new series I just can't. It gets progressively more annoying each episode and I agree that Spidey is actually the most annoying personality in the show now. None of this series feels like any incarnation of Spiderman and as a new take on him it falls pretty flat IMO. I guess i was really hoping this series would have just been based off its actual comic counterpart instead.

I'm officially done with this series and will not support this "just because its Marvel". My 7yr old nephew wouldn't even watch it when he came to visit because he said it was too weird and silly. So he decided to watch Rocko's Modern Life on Netflix instead. Wow.

I guess i might as well enjoy the last season of Avengers:EMH while I can before Loeb cancels it and turns it into something like this show. *sigh*

Rocko FTW!
If they make a new Avengers cartoon anything like this(not just animation style) then it will ruin any new fans that are coming from watching The Avengers movie.

yeah, I'm pretty much done with this series too. There's nothing new I can add that hasn't already been said, since it's only become more grating and more irritating.

The new season of Avengers also doesn't enthrall me the way the first season did. I don't like the redesigns ment to match up to the movie. Because I find them quite without any purpose besides "MOAR MOOVEE!"
While in this case, the avengers movieverse isn't bad, it's a fad/trend that TF has over exploited and quite frankly made me sick of it.
However, while avengers doesn't interest me as much anymore, it's still watchable.
Spiderman I've decided is not.

I haven't seen this last episode but I will second what you're saying to everything. I figure if I watch this first then Avenger's it brightens the whole toon watching a lot

yeah i can see myself phasing this out but i generally have ult spidey on first while getting situated with food and snacks then chase it with young justice, avengers, and legend of korra. definitely not enough restraint on spidey's part in this new show since he's supposed to be mr. great power comes responsibility. i just don't buy it here.

He's a kid. I can see him getting really excited and annoying everyone when he;s on the shield carrier. I can see him going fanboy when he meets his own heroes, like Tony Stark.
But I definately agree with the general lack of responcibility he has. Out in battle, he should be way more concerned with what's going on than he is. Now, he's too concerned with showing off, and showing up Nova.
While I do not like the other teenagers chosen (I agree that Torch, Iceman, and Kitty would have been way better. With all the marvel teenagers who get so little exposure, why shoehorn adults into this role instead?), the whole group dynamic would work so much better had they stayed true to his personality in the Ultimate comic.

This really is Spiderman: The Sitcom. Especially with Shield taking over his school life.

No Green Lantern The Animated Series in there:P That show is better than Ultimate Spidey as well!

I just hope they have these characters mature quick, because I really wanna like this show. The fight scenes and animation are top notch. But when Spidey's inner monologue says "I'm toast" and they cut to a Mighty Muggs looking Spider Man between 2 pieces of bread, I want to turn it off. That shit has to stop.

I'm actually ok with that. The less Spider man motorcycles, the better

Not yet, but maybe that's what they're trying to gear up for? But don't want to yet since the Spider-Man movie is around the corner...

So I've now watched two full episodes of USM (Iron Spider and Doom eps) and now I think I can officially post some thoughts.

I HATE Nova.
The humor reminds me of Teen Titans and Scott Pilgrim which I can tolerate (for now).
The animation is awesome. The animation involved in the Iron Spider suit was beautiful.
Why couldn't they have used Electro instead of the Living Laser?
And lastly Spidey's voice is going to have to grow on me. Bell is okay but I guess I've been spoiled by Keaton's fantastic performance as the web-head.

I've still got 3 more on the DVR to watch but for now I like it okay (EMH is 10x better though) and I think I'll stick with it for a little while.

I'm basically assuming they used Living Laser because he's an ironman villain, and this episode was focused around Ironman.

I agree. But then Ironman: Armored Adventures has spoiled me on Living Laser. Anything below that is just dissappointing.

Today's episode was not only watchable, it was actually somewhat enjoyable!

I still feel the brand of humor is over the top and out of place, but they really toned it down in this episode, and in context it actually works.
If he were more highstrung, and less show-offy, it would actually have felt exactly like the Ultimate Spiderman comic. (Aside from Hulk not... you know... eating anyone)

If they keep this up, the show may turn around yet.

Huh, I skipped the last two episodes. Guess, I'll give the Hulk episode a try.

Hulk ep was good, Tasky ep was better.

As a whole, the show is kind of a mixed bag for me. Spider-Man will always be my favorite comic-book hero, but this show hasn't quite hit the right tone for me yet. I agree with everyone's comments about needing to tone down the cutaways and 4th-wall humor (and this coming from someone who LOVES 4th wall jokes. Well, at least ones that are used appropriately).

To paraphrase a line from Nostalgia Critic: USM, you're trying too hard.
