So you're going to blame Hasbro for the way Walmart manages its inventory?

Yeah, that seems fair.

Finding clearanced stuff sucks here now, I haven't seen jack shit.
I don't get the logic either, but Walmart has been doing that shit for years. I can only assume that they think someone will see that red sticker instead of the yellow one and think they're getting a great deal "because it's on clearance". Never mind the fact that the price is still the same as it was before it was on clearance.

And it's not like Target when they change the shelf tags to NCF. I've seen Walmart put toys on "clearance", move them back to normal status and then back to clearance again, all while keeping the price exactly the same.

If the difference is $2 or less, there's usually not much (if any) resistance, unless the cashier is aware enough to sense something shady. And getting a price based on the item's location is a far tougher battle than one where the toy is clearly marked for one price but rings up differently.

No, I'm blaming Hasbro for releasing Iron Man and Spider Man with not only various repaints, but releasing them in every wave as well. Plus they both had their own toylines. This causes them to peg warm and lead to a lot of stores ending the toyline. I am not exaggerating when I say that I used to walk into some Wal-Marts and see a full shelf of the same two figures. A dozen Iron Man's, next to a whole section of more Iron Man 2 movie toys, next to another section of Spider Man.

Those figures weren't released in every wave and certainly not together in every wave.

I will say that the case ratios aren't always the best, but the stores are who decides what they buy and how much of it. To place the blame solely on Hasbro for distribution issues or pegwarming figures is ridiculous.

Especially in a rant thread about Walmart.

While I am not doubting your experiences, you must keep in mind that yours do not dictate the rest of the country. Other areas don't even carry those figures or never carried them. Some sold so well they barely kept up with demand.

In the end, the only one you can blame for Walmart not carrying or stocking MU is Walmart. It's their decision, regardless of what Hasbro says or does.

Every Walmart within driving distance of me has nothing in the way of MU figures. The closest one to me had a Doc Samson but they don't even have that anymore

Matt, the Walmart in Kirkwood had Green Lantern figures for $1.50. The figures kind of suck, but with you being such a huge GL fan I figured you'd like to know.

Well, I'd definitely apreceate that! nothing too crazy- I dont need the furry monkey guy, just the potato-head, the purple grasshopper guy, Kilowog, etc.
Maybe that lame version of Stel- I could remake it into a lethal Ultron minion.
Sinestro would be good too- he could become an ironic Nova Centurian!

But think cheap! Cheap is goood!

Thanks in advance for your efforts!

Has anyone seen Real steel clearanced yet? Those make amazing sentinel bodies- get a Heroclix Sentinel head for it, some Gundam parts...

Man! BSing on toyark always makes me wnat to do customs!

Like Batman? I do that for fun all the time. Talking in a stupid voice often creates a good deal of confusion and hilarity. Try it.

A little late to this discussion, forgive me, but there is a common misconception to what a store has to legally sell you an item at: it's what rings up at the till/check-out. It's called an invitation to treat here in the UK or an Invitation to Bargain to my american counterparts. Basically, without all the legal jargon, it's to protect retailers from mistakingly pricing items at a lower price and under contract law a "binding contract" to sell the item only is formed when it is rung up; not before.

Laws here vary state to state. Some states have laws protecting the consumer, others have laws that protect the retailer.

In the state I live in each item needs to have it's own individual price tag and if the item rings up for more than the retailer has to honor the price that is on the tag unless the difference is greater than $5.

Yeah, generally they will honor it if you point it out unless they are making a massive loss on it. Our british Walmart counterpart has had its fair share of pricing errors that they did honour.

Speaking of the British Walmart, Asda, it seems to be dropping MU in my area also. I assume it is just a case of Supermarket's discontinuing to stock items that aren't selling particularly well in that particular store. For me, it usually happens to be products (foodl household and MU in this case) that no one else seems to be buying.

I think it has little to do with what sells and what doesn't sell and everything to do with Wal Mart sucking.
