I love Gigantic battles except for the fact that they are fricking exclusive and I can NEVER FIND THEM IN WALMART! So I think that if they did a mass retail release of BAF that I could possibly find in other stores besides that depressing crapshack that makes me hate humanity i say WOOHOO! LMAO ;-)

BAF in Mu would double the price and kill the line- each package would need to be twoce as large too..which would mean less figures on shelves, less characters per wave and less waves.
Everything thats made MU successful would be ruined. Also, lets be honest: ML BAFs are pretty hit and miss. Galactus was terrible compared with the MU version...MODOK and fin Fang Foom were great but not many people wanted them back then and Blob...really!? No...we already have the Gigantic Battles and Select figures for big stuff. |

so if the BAF is going to be like ML- making something big, it'll take a larger package. As large as a Iron Man 6" fig....at least. Consider that DCU and the new ML figs are going to be as much as $17-18, so... Also, smaller figures have greater restock and turn over than larger ones- smaller packages are more attractive to parents buying multiple gifts too. If the BAF only makes a Apoclyspe-sized fig, it's still going to seriously add to shipping (due to weight) and packaging. Less figs per case which means either smaller waves or less distribution. Great idea, I mean why in the hell couldn't they do this? They already charge the same price if not more for GI Joes that have way more accessories. It'd also give all of us incentives to buy even the repaints or figures we don't want. But then again most of us get them all anyway, Ummm yea this'll never happen.

well, Galactus' leg was like 6", and Fin Fang Foom's head is abour 5x4"...so yeah- added to the MU fig's packaging...about twice as big.

Yeah but BAF droids cost more, right? MU's price point is what keeps retailors buying.
I totally think MU needs the level of acessories that GI Joes gets- that would be flippin incredible. Spidey could have a camera webbed up, backpack, etc. Each MU should come with an unamsked alternate head! |

Sure, why not.
Maybe they could do something like they're doing with Young Justice, and you build an enviroment instead of a figure. I think one of the selling points of the line is the cost though, and they re-use a lot of parts, and unique BAF pieces with each fig could drive cost up, so maybe no. Maybe you should add a poll?

How about buy four or five of any figures you want and send in the packaging or upc's and pay shipping for an exclusive figure. Let's say every 2 months they introduce a new figure you can get by buying four or five and sending in proof of purchases. Maybe have some sort of fan's poll to determine said characer. Kinda like a build a figure except you get to buy figures you want and you don't feel forced to buy any you don't want. It'd probably cost them about the same too. I mean yeah MOC collectors would be fucked since it'd involve opening the figures or discarding part of the cards but hey build a figures force them to open them anyway.

If the waves were small, price didn't increase and distribution was full nobody would complain. The completists would buy them all, the broke and selective crew picks the ones they want and either sells/trades/throws out the baf parts. *Guy at my work bought a bunch of Ml figures from the FFF line and through out all the baf parts, I was like I hate you, I would of taken them in a heartbeat. The valid point mentioned, is that adding the baf factor, makes you buy figures you don't necessarily want. Mind you this is only subject to you wanting the baf alot, and willing to pay $10 for another spidey figure so that hulk can have a right arm.
I like it and I don't. to me it would be cool in the sence of getting more bang for your buck, but it then turns everybody into completists. or resort to ebay when your missing a piece. I'd say MU if it ain't broke don't fix it. lets worry about quality control and distribution before we even think BAF lol. |

Nope I am still all for it. But I do see why people would dislike it. I say any sort of incentive is good. Kinda like Im hella excited that if I buy two DCUC figures I get a third free lol (cuz I only need two more peices)

I'd go with quarterly exclusives or maybe some special promo like a sky cycle or variant. I'm still all about the alternate unmasked head though- stuff like that should be included like they are with GI Joe's crazy huge amount of extras for the same price point. After all, if MU can sell (big!)Thanos with Infinity Gauntlet for the same price as (crappy) Madrox with nothing, they can add in extras like swappable heads and hands (though that might hurt their "Ages 4 and up" standing some with the whole "choking hazard" bit). |

I'm not sure about BAF, they've done pretty well with GBP, and the bulkier figures as is so far.
I wouldn't mind seeing Build-a-vehicle though, like an all ghost rider wave that makes his bike, with a vengence figure or ketch figure that shanges the bike front to vengence's or Ketch's. Not sure if this would work for the modern fantasticars, but the classic pipes one could be done this way too. The waves could focus on relation to the theme too. (Ghost Rider characters for GR's BAF, Fantastic 4 characters and variants for theirs.) That way if you want the BAV, you'll be getting the wave anyway and it'll reflect that wave. Like an all avengers wave that builds Hawkeye's skycycle. Other than that, I'd prefer a more build-a-scene way to do it like the YJ figures are doing the hall of justice. That'd be rocking, but for varieties sake, make it something more interchangeable and interlocking like sidewalks with building walls and ways to make them dip back like alleys, or street pieces. That way with every figure you can add to your dio, but you can also trade with friends to get the pieces you want if you get doubles. So maybe even blind pack them and randomize them to allow for that. Unless the wave is focusing on something like the bugle. Then it'd have to be each piece to a certain figure. If they must do a BAF for MU though. I'd say right off the bat they should do Ultimate Nimrod of the new Ultimate X-Men and have that wave be Ultimate Kitty Pryde/Shroud, New Ultimate Spiderman, Ultimate Thor, Ultimate Wolverine, the current Ultimate Ironman, Ultimate Cable, and Ultimate Jean Grey. But then again, I just want that new Ultimate Nimrod as a figure like yesterday. |

speaking as a collector outside the US, I think it's a great idea, exclusives like gigantic battles and packs are really difficult (and expensive) to get here
