I'd say bite the bullet and sign online for it, and get free comics, or get your buddy to attempt it, the other option is buying regular version which if you can find retail you can get like 6 for same price as 1 going on ebay and paint them yourself, just read up on a bunch of tutorials and practice.

Don't think a thread is needed for this either but of course there are 3 pages of posts anyway.

Have you looked on eBay for a wingless xforce archangel? A Chinese seller had them for less than 20 bucks at one time, not sure if he still has them and then you could buy another regular archangel and use the wings from that.

You could just give him $60 and tell him to use his CC and info. Then after he gets the figure. Either keep the account or just tell him to cancel it

Even that whole "I'm apocalypse reincarnated" thing is pretty weird.

It looks like gambit and wolvie have held down the persona better......well wolvie anyway, but that's probably because of him being a flagship character.
It's ironic that you mention Wolverine, because that's exactly who took over for Apocalypse in the Age of Apocalypse Universe. Apocalypse Wolverine!

I use the Marvel sub a lot more than I thought I would.

I suggest sign up if you have the scratch. Unlike most online "clubs", it's worth it.

I know newer members keep asking this same question (as they should, we're hear to discuss this stuff and help each other out) so I will say one final suggestion: Sign up. If you don't like the fact that this figure will inevitably cost a small fortune (somehow more than it already does on eBay? Possibly.) than do the subscription, and get the figure along with a cool source for reading comics. This is the only logical way to get the figure right now, unless some random overseas eBay seller decides to relist some. That is the risk you are taking.

And that is why in a few years comics are going to hit another early 90s kinda hype because they will have stopped printing as many and they will then be harder to find

If you want the figure get the subscription

Believe it or not, there are a ton of comic lovers who are ecstatic over being able to read their comics on an Ipad or online or whatever. I myself still enjoy the floppies ( hey I didnt make up the term) and will continue to support my LCS, I hate that they are going extinct.

Other people have embraced digital with open arms.. have you noticed any book stores closing?

..any time you hear of a scumbag getting his comics for "free".. well guess what.. another nail in Marvel and DCs coffin along with the eventual death of all LCS's. (But that is another topic altogether!! )

I'm with this. I LOVE comics, but I simply can't afford to read everything I want to read. Online subscription gives them an affordable publishing medium and me an affordable method to access it all. And I wouldn't want the actual comics anyway... sure they're cool, but I'm going to read them maybe twice a year. It's not worth the storage. I used to torrent stuff, but now that I have a subscription, I no longer feel guilt. I recommend it. It's the next step for comics... the webcomic culture helped make sure of that.

I agree. Sadly for local comic shops its the next step in comic evolution.
