Double-take at the price; triple-take at the part loadout! Holy moly, virtually every step has been recreated... if this is the approach they're taking to the transformations, we're going to have some amazing pieces coming up.

It's not something I'm interested in ever owning at all but, really impressive nonetheless.

TheArtofHorror 05-04-2023 07:00 AM

Seems like the price should be half that. I would want this displayed with the actual monsters when they make them but $60 for the dog seems high to me when all their other figures are $30.

It's got a lot of parts. That means a lot of tooling, a lot of paint ops, and a lot of assembly, much more than their usual figures. And they're not getting the reuse they can usually get through releasing variations of characters, so no amortization on the more-expensive-than-usual molds.

I don't like the price either, but I don't think there's any gouging going on here, it really does just cost more for NECA to make.

Technically its 2 figures in one, right? From what I can tell, you have enough parts to have 2 creatures.

CosmicCreature 05-04-2023 11:41 AM

I Love It ,I do wish it was 10 $ less but alot new good looking work went into this so worth it .

Dolemite 05-04-2023 12:45 PM

I'm 200% on-board with this...it looks amazing. I hope NECA makes every version of The Thing, along with at least a few more Outpost 31 characters. Childs at least!

100% agree. Who doesn't want Wilfred Brimley on a shelf??

Skoob 05-04-2023 02:17 PM

This has been a long time coming.

Yeah you can definitely have the furry dog version and then the twisted/bare dog version at the same time.
