I like Mego's. I think they are very cool. I loved playing with them as a child.
I still have nearly all of them along with the playsets.

But I think the look hokey mostly. They were great for their day but today with our technology and sculpting ability, Why make their features so vague and ball shaped? And their clothes as though they could not afford to go to a tailor?

Remember a few years ago when Hasbro made something similar but highly improved?

They had moveable fingers, massive articulation. The costumes were much better. Very cool head. Man Hal Jordan and Aquaman looked awesome.
So why go back with the throwback style?
I really want them to make these figures but I would rather them use them push the envelope into the future rather than recreate the past.

What do you think?

I like them. If a toy company is going to make a Mego doll then it better look like one.

you have a good point, I guess my problem is why are they making mego's? why not take the concept of megos, namely an 8inch figure with mutliple point af articulation and cloth costumes and make an updated (vastly updated not minor updates) version utilizing the fullness of curretn tech.

Does anyone remember the hasbro ones?

I remember the Famous Covers as well as the Hasbro ones and they were great but they were not Mego and in my opinion that were not an extension of that line either. Just like I do not consider DCUC an extension of the Super Powers Collection even though the name is going the package with wave #12.
Let me just say the way the retro dolls look is more about the nostalgia than it is about how far the scultping techniques have advanced.
I think it is an affordable way for collectors to get those items that they did not hold onto.

Thats a great point. about people being able to afford them. I would hope someday we get to some same size but with sharp up to date styling.
